Rant: Really?!

I’m  a woman of a particular age.
Grown adult Black woman.
I'm thirty-fucking-five.
Hella grown.

The things that impressed me at 25 don’t even rate at 35. Corny & lame lines truly make me itch. I’m too intelligent for that. Just be real with me. Approach me like a grown man. Speak intelligently. Have a conversation about yourself. Do not come at me sideways. I no longer have time.

Also, I’m not on any social media site trolling for a man or men. So, you don’t even have to shoot your shot because I’m good on all the game playing. That’s not where my head is. I just want to date & have fun. I’m not trying to marry you dude. And, I’m a flirt. Big one. Gargantuan. And, more often than not, it’s just flirting. I’m not looking for a husband. Hell, I’m not looking for anything. I’m a firm believer that real things happen organically. You don’t have to force it or fake it. It just happens. But please don’t annoy me with your lameness. Kindly keep it far from me, por favor. This is grown woman business over here. Immature men need not apply.

Rant: And Justice For All?

Way back when I was in high school, my homeroom teacher wrote me up on a referral for refusal to stand and say the pledge. I did not believe in the words in the pledge. I could not willingly say "...and justice for all" and mean it. I was about 14 and I knew those words were a lie. They did not extend to me or my people. It is 20 years later and I still feel the same way. As a matter of fact, I am even more sure that those words do not include Black people. How could I? I am alive and conscious and intelligent so I know the truth. After watching Trayvon Martin's killer walk and Michael Brown's killer avoid even an indictment, I am so over it. Malcolm X once said "I'm black first, not interested in being American because America has never been interested in me." This quote speaks to me on such a deep level right now.

That day in my homeroom class, I took a stance. I decided that I wasn't going to say words I did not believe anymore. My teacher made me stand in the hall when the pledge was being said as a punishment. I did not see it that way. I felt it was a victory. By the end of that week, my entire class was in the hallway with me. I remember that she wrote "Kenda knows that she is a leader and that people will follow her. She needs to use that power in a better way." Those words have always stuck with me. I loved that she had such a high opinion of me and that she saw something in me. I believed, then and now, that I was using my power in the correct way. I have never said the pledge since then and I never will. Because I no longer believe. I'm just so tired of seeing Black mothers on tv crying over their slain children. Tired of Black bodies dead in the streets. Tired of white people not seeing past color into the humanity of a person. Just tired. Every day, the world shows us that we as Black people are all we have. It's us versus everybody and that is why I am beyond tired.

Rant: 35

In less than 5 months, I will be 35. Thirty-freaking-five!! This is a huge milestone for anyone. I am not prepared. I am not taking this aging thing gracefully. 35 is an age I could not comprehend  when I was 16. Around this time 5 years ago, turning 30 felt like the biggest thing ever. I am trying my best to not get caught up in all the things I thought I would/should have by this age. But, it's hard not to. I am not really looking forward to it. 35 is an age where things should be settled in your life. I feel totally unsettled and unprepared for what will become of me. I don't like the uncertainty my future holds. Turning 35 was supposed to be something different than what it will be. It just hit me today that I will be 35 soon. I had a plan for my life. It hasn't exactly panned out quite the way I thought it would. I am going to spend the next few months trying to change my thinking about my next birthday. Hopefully, by the time December 14th, my outlook will be better. Fingers crossed.

Rant: Away

“I am homesick for a place I am not sure even exists. One where my heart is full. My body loved. And my soul understood.”
— Melissa Cox

Restless. That's the only word to describe what I'm feeling. I am longing for a place that I'm not even sure really exists. I feel the intense desire to just go. Somewhere new, somewhere different. A place where no one knows my name or my story. A place where I can build a new life and a future for myself. I feel stuck here in this place that raised me. Or maybe a better way to say it is that I feel like my life is on pause while the rest of the world is playing right around me. It's as if I am waiting for something that may never happen. And, quite frankly, I am tired of it. Tired of not living my life to its fullest, tired of being a hermit and anti-social, tired of not being fulfilled in all areas. I hear the below Norah Jones song and it inspired this blog. These are just my thoughts about the randomness of my life. Forgive me, I'm restless. Get into this throwback video and just vibe with me.

Rant: Don't Put Me In A Box

The other night I had an epiphany. This will be my last year being in the 25-34 or 30-34 box. You know the age box on every application and/or survey. I am not prepared for 35. I feel like my life has been moving at warp speed since turning 30. I'm at the age now where I thought I would have my life perfectly together. After turning 30, I believed that a marriage and babies would happen before 35. I should have already transitioned into being that version of myself. I thought I had things figured out. I think that was my mistake. The universe decided that I was wrong. Now that 35 is fast approaching, I am contemplating life in general. This isn't much of a rant more of a thought. I don't feel my age nor do I look my age. But, there are things that I know that I need to do. This age box thing really threw me for a loop. Life is interesting to say the least.

Newsflash: Black Skin Isn't A Crime

Jonathan Ferrell.
Jordan Davis.
Trayvon Martin.

I am tired. Tired of waking up to news of another unarmed Black teen being shot and killed by a white person. Tired of the killers claiming the "Stand Your Ground" defense. Ti-red. Is is open season on Black people? Does my brown skin automatically make me a suuspect and a criminal? And, if so, there is something inherently wrong with you and your racist way of thinking. This is not ok. Killing people is not ok. Murderers like George Zimmerman, Michael David Dunn, Randall Kerrick, and Theodore Paul Wafer should do the time for their crimes. No one should be able to legally kill unarmed Black people and not go to jail. How is this ok with anyone?

Trayvon was just walking home from the store with a tea and some Skittles. He never made it there. His race made him a suspect in the eyes of his killer. Jordan Davis was just sitting in a car listening to music in the parking lot of a gas station. He was minding his own business. He never made it home because his killer decided to take his life. Jonathan Ferrell survived a horrific car crash only to die at the hands of a white cop who considered him a suspect. REnisha McBride had a car accident, a dead cell phone and was just trying to get home. Another child who did not make it home because her killer decided she shouldn't. None of this is just or moral or legal or right. Why does my skin offend white people so damn much? Does my Blackness really scare them that much? Is there an automatic target placed on our backs? None of them were doing anything wrong or illegal or criminal and they are still dead. There should be nationally outrage about this.

This is how I truly know that the U.S. is not a post-racial country. Also, that term is stupid. Even with a Black President and a Black First Family living in the White House, we are not past race related issues int his country. I've seen and experienced more issues of racism since President Obama began his historic run in 2007. Race will always be in issue in the country which was built on the genocide of one race (Native Americans) and the enslavement of another (African Americans). No, I do not want apologies for slavery or genocide. I want acknowledgement of the messed up history of this country. I want racist to realize that none of us have a choice on our skin tones. The melanin in my skin isn't meant to offend you neither is my pride in it. I am fearful for my 4 brown nephews and 5 brown nieces that this is the world they are growing up in. I am pissed that this is the world we live in. And, more than anything, I am tired, weary and sick of this. It's 2013 and change is needed more than ever. We need a resolution but even more, I think we need a revolution. And, yes, it needs to be televised, tweeted, tumbled and blogged about.

Rant: Trayvon is Not A Joke, Blackface is Not Acceptable

The idiots above are William Feline, Caitlin Cimeno and Greg Cimeno. They are portraying Trayvon MArtin and George Zimmerman. For Halloween and for fun I guess. WHY?!?! Who are you deplorable human beings? I cannot even put into words how pissed I am about this.

NEWSFLASH: THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR!! EVER!! Blackface is never culturally or morally appropriate. I do not know why people, especially white people, do not get this. It is offensive on so many levels. I'm offended that anyone thinks that a 17 year old murdered child is funny and ripe to be mocked via a Halloween costume. Who raised you no couth, no morals having folks?!? Where do you even come from? This is sick and disgusting. It is WRONG. There is no other way to spin it or see it. If you find this funny or cute, then something is wrong with you as well. This is what's wrong with the world right now. Folks are clearly insane.

Actress Julianne Hough (above) did not get the memo that this is unacceptable. Why doesn't anyone get that you can portray Black characters like Crazy Eyes of "Orange Is The New Black" without donning Blackface? I cannot even imagine how disheartened Sybrina and Tracy, Trayvon's parents must feel. Isn't it bad enough that their son was murdered, that their dead son was put on trial for his own death basically and that his murderer got away with the crime? When is enough finally going to be enough? White people, get it together. This is not a situation to be mocked or ridiculed. If you are one of the sick ones who decided that Blackface was the way to go for Halloween or any other occasion, DON'T. Reconsider. Find the nearest stadium and have every seat in it. Also, pray because clearly you need Jesus. I just cannot with these people. Ugh.

Rant: Oh, Kanye!

Kanye West is a genius. He tells you so in every interview he has given in the last few years. The problem with such a proclamation is that if you're constantly telling everyone what you are, no one has a chance to believe it for themselves. Humble is a word Kanye does not seem to know. He is flashy and . I have no issue with one thinking they are the best. Why shouldn't one think this? I have an issue with that thinking being rammed down my throat. Especially when the product you are mostly known for, the music, hasn't been that great lately. I have a fan. Have been since he was an underground, unknown kid trying to get put on. But, I was very disappointed with "Yeezus." I did not find it innovative or groundbreaking. I just found it weird. After a few months, I really only listen to one of the ten songs, which is "Bound 2." I also don't think his fashion designs or choices have been that great either. Leather kilt anyone? Just no, Kanye. I don't see it for you in that way.

Then, comes the idiotic one-sided Twitter war with late night tv host Jimmy Kimmel. It was just dumb. Kanye graced the show with his presence last night. This wasn't an interview. Kimmel was the backdrop for another epic Ye rant. Ye went off on a tangent about 100 different things. Most of which had nothing to do with his reasoning for being on the show or any of the 4 questions Kimmel asked. It was just weird. Ye was talking super fast and was extremely animated. And, I was over it after the first half of it. I stared at the tv with the illest "Boy what?" face especially once he said that Kim deserved a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. *Excuse my language* But, NIGGA WHAT?!? For what? She is famous for being famous. She has no real discernible talent. I do not care if he is head over heels in love with her. That is great. But, stop trying to make her happen for us. I do not care for anything dealing with her or her family. I kinda wish they would all go far, far away and leave us alone. Ye's Kimmel appearance did not help Ye. It did bolster Kimmel's ratings because I do not watch his show ever. Where there may have been moments of sheer greatness, Kanye's hyper speak and ridiculousness overshadows all of it. It made for go fodder on Twitter. Either or, I'm over Ye's rants for ever. Also, if the music isn't going to get better, I could be over that aspect of him as well. That makes me sad on so many levels because I am a fan. Kanye, just stop it already.

It's My Hair: Rant

Natural Hair Rant: DO NOT TOUCH MY HAIR. DO NOT ASK TO TOUCH MY HAIR. NATURAL OR RELAXED, I REALLY DO NOT CARE.
I do not care what any other woman does with her hair. Simply because it is NOT my hair. What I do what my hair only affects me. After over 20 years of having my hair relaxed, I decided to make a drastic change. I didn’t remember what my natural hair felt like, looked like. I thought about it a lot before doing it. I thought about my future a lot. I didn’t want to pass that legacy onto any future daughter I could possibly have. I wanted to get to know my hair intimatley. It’s also kinda funny but my three younger sisters are all natual as well. Of the 3, only one wears her hair curly/kinky/coily from time to time. The other two are prone to flatirons. There isn’t one way to be natural. It’s just a way of life for us. There are many natural hair women in my family. It’s been almost 2 years for me. This natural journey isn’t a fad for me. I LOVE my hair now more than ever. I live for a braid out or twist out. But, I have no issue with rocking a bun or a flatiron. It’s just hair. And, if I ever want to get another relaxer, I just may do so. It’s just hair. I do what I want with it. I don’t look down on relaxed hair women just like I don’t look up to natural hair women. That’s all. These are just my thoughts.

Rant: George Zimmerman, Get Your Mom

It is my opinion that Geogre Zimmerman is a MURDERER. He is NOT the victim. He does not need to be saved. He does need to pay for what he did. I have been writing about the murder of Trayvon Martin for over a year now. This story has pissed me off from the beginning. Because Martin clearly was killed because he was a young Black male wearing a hoodie. That scares me because I have 2 brothers, 4 nephews that I love dearly. I know and love too many Black men to be quiet about this. Not only is George Zimmerman a racist murderer, he is also a liar which led to his bail being revoked last summer.  His family has been popping up in the news as well lately. Last month, his brother Robert posted some ridiculous tweets on Twitter. I'm sorry but when your brother kills an unarmed teenager, your opinion on the matter is null and void. I understand standing behind family. But, wrong is wrong and murder will always be murder. I cannot believe these people.

And, now comes his mom with her two cents. And, let me tell you that's all her words are worth. His Mom, Gladys, has penned this letter on the "anniversary" of the day he was arrested. It's been over a year since Zimmerman killed Martin. I had to comment on this idiotic letter. I posted "Mrs. Zimmerman, your son is a MURDERER! IT is not a travesty that he was arrested and awaiting trial, it is justice. You do the crime, you do the time. While you are lamenting the incarceration of your son, Ms. Fulton is still grieving for hers. I realize now that this whole family is delusional. I cannot wait until 6/10 for this trial to start. I hope and pray that your son gets exactly what he deserves, which in my eye is life in jail. An eye for an eye." I've kept myself updated on this impending trial because I want to see justice served. This entire family are beyond words. I am done. Bring on the trial and justice for Trayvon!

Political Rant: VAWA

There are many things I do not understand about Republicans. Plenty. But, what I cannot get is how any woman, Democrat or Republican, could vote against the Violence Against Women Act. This act covers The White House issued an official pdf of what VAWA is. It is very detailed. Quite simply, it protects women. End of discussion. So as a woman, how could you vote against it? There has to be a special place in hell for the women who did not stand up for this particular act to be made into law. I don't even have the energy to go in on this subject. And, I truly don't have to. Thankfully, it was passed and President Obama signed it into law. Below are the main points of the new law. Happy that it exists.

The Violence Against Women laws provide programs and services, including:

  • Federal rape shield law.
  • Community violence prevention programs.
  • Protections for victims who are evicted from their homes because of events related to domestic violence or stalking.
  • Funding for victim assistance services, like rape crisis centers and hotlines.
  • Programs to meet the needs of immigrant women & women of different races or ethnicities.
  • Programs and services for victims with disabilities.
  • Legal aid for survivors of domestic violence.

A Political Rant

The NRA is full of it. Completely and totally. I've never been an advocate of guns. Never. I hate them. I don't want to touch them or shoot them or own them. That's just my personal opinion. That is not my issue with the NRA. My main issue with them now is this ridiculous ad they just released. The NRA's ad questions why the President's daughters has Secret Service men protecting them. Really? Seriously? The NRA's response to the horror that was the Sandy Hook shooting was to insist that the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is more guns. And, that all schools should be policed more heavily with armed guards. Our President is vehemently opposed to this plan of action as am I. That won't solve the issue at all. The above ad is just sickening. As President, his life and the life of his family is of high priority. Presidents and their families are afforded this protection because it is needed. I have never known of any other President's family being protected by Secret Service being questioned. No one really wants to send their kids to school with guards. We need to figure out a solution. Gun laws need to be tightened. Kids need to be protected at school and in their neighborhoods. The NRA needs to offer solutions or shut up. The President needs to put his foot down on the neck of Congress and the House and get laws passed. But, bottom line, this ad is disrespectful and wrong. The Obama girls need protection because folks are insane. We need to do better.

Rant: Really Woman?

I am never shocked by the stupidity of people in general. But sometimes, people can catch me off guard. Such was the case yesterday on Twitter. The series of tweets pictured above threw me for a loop. In what world does a man carrying his child's diaper bag make him less than a man? That has to be one of the stupidest things a person has ever tweeted. This woman defended these claims for hours. It's also imperative to state that this woman is single and childless as well as a conservative Republican. A quick scan of her time line shows many reasons for her current predicament.

But, back to the issue at hand, men & diaper bags. A man who loves and takes care of his child is a beautiful thing. There is nothing emasculating about a man carrying a diaper bag. How any sensible, thinking person comes to this conclusion is beyond my realm of comprehension. I don't know what delusion world this chick lives in but it is not the same one that I do. I could go on and on but I'm sure you all get it. Men,father your kids so they don't grow up this misinformed. People are dumb. The end. Oh, yeah someone complied the whole ordeal on Chirpstory. You guys can check it out here if you have the time. I'm sorry but some Conservative Republicans are dumb as hell. There is no other way to describe them. I'm still under the weather & writing this is taking so much out of me. There aren't enough cold meds in the world to make this ok. I have a fever. So, I'm done. Do better, America!

And Another Thing (Mini-Rant)

Tragedies, like the Connecticut school shooting, always have a way of putting life into perspective for me. My birthday was a happy/sad day for me. I am always happy to celebrate making it through another year. But, to know that 20 children lost their lives that day as well made it sad. I still cannot believe this is the world we live in. This is not normal. I've been watching CNN and MSNBC constantly since Friday. It's only so much sadness one person can take. I just can't turn away though. Those kids deserve my attention. They need to know their lives were not in vain. I received calls from all 8 of my nieces and nephews on my birthday. I didn't realize how much I was longing for those calls. Hearing those tiny voice tell me "Happy Birthday" meant the world to me. Especially when there were so many tiny voices lost on the same day. I needed to hear from my nieces and nephews. They made my day. I am still so hurt behind the loss of life....especially kids. That is just wrong. I am praying for the families who are dealing with this tragedy. We have to remember their names, tell their stories. I still cannot wrap my mind around this. I am sure I never will. It's just been on my mind and I cannot shake it. Those poor little children. Gone entirely too soon. We will never be able to make sense of this tragedy. I'll just leave that up to God.

Rant: Pay The Refs!!!

I am a sports chick. I love my basketball and my football. After the long lockout of the NBA last season, I was looking forward to a drama free NFL season. Commissioner Goodell decided that I would not have that. First, there was the New Orleans Saints "Bounty-gate." Then came the fallout form that. My home team lost its coach and one great player for the entire season. Next, the Saints owner Tom Benson held out all summer messing with Drew Brees' contract. And, finally, there is this referee situation. The refs are basically on strike. We are left with a bunch of "replacement refs" who clearly do not know what the hell they are doing. The bogus calls that I've seen in the last 3 weeks have been appalling.

But, nothing takes the cake more than the final call during Monday Night Football game between the Packers and the Seahawks. Anyone watching that game could tell that Green Bay had possession of the ball all the way to the ground. Even the replacement refs are confused. One ref ruled that it wasn't a touchdown, another ref ruled it a touchdown for the Seahawks. How can two refs standing nearly side by side see two totally different things and still come to a conclusive decision. I am still shocked. I do not know what the refs were looking at but surely it was not what I and everyone saw. That one call set Twitter ablaze. No one thought it was a touchdown. No one. These refs are messing with the integrity of the sport. Even worse, that call cost the Packers the game. The NFL upheld the ruling which further lets me know that Goodell is an idiot. How can he not be? If this is what the rest of the season will hold, I am out. I am not here for officials messing up the game. Pay the real refs so we can get back to playing the game already.

#30in30: Rant: Reality TV Just Got Real

I could have titled this post "When Keep It Real Goes Wrong." It would be totally appropriate. Over the weekend, Chad Ochocinco Johnson was arrested for domestic violence against his wife of 39 days Evelyn Johnson. As a result, Chad was cut from the Miami Dolphins and VH1 has dropped their new reality show. I am not here to write about what did or did not happen between the two. My biggest issue is the way VH1 has responded to the news. A channel that promotes any and all violence on all of their reality shows. What made this particular incident so bad that they had to pull a show? I wonder who made the call. Reality tv has become a huge business. It's come a long way since the first season of MTV's "The Real World." And, sadly, most of the changes in reality tv hasn't been too good.

Granted, I totally get the seriousness of the Evelyn and Chad drama. But, VH1 is the same company that allows "Basketball Wives" to air? Evelyn is the same woman we've seen season after season promote violence on this show. Just last season, she threw 2 wine bottles at her co-star. Also, we saw her run across a table to attempt to attack someone. The woman is a hot head with a violent temper. But, VH1 and Viacom felt no need to pull this show. They promoted it. Praised it to a fault. This company stood idly behind Evelyn and her violent acts for ratings. Why is this violence ok? I do not know what happened between the Johnsons. What I do know is what VH1 has shown us. I stopped watching BBW a while back because the drama wasn't entertaining anymore. It stopped being entertaining when I realized that these were grown women acting like immature school girls on my tv.

I cannot be ok with VH1 standing behind Evelyn when she was violent for ratings but dropping her show now. Why wasn't she dismissed from BBW? It was all good and fun when she was attacking other women. We've watched her go from throwing drinks in another woman's face (which by the way, I've never seen this happen in real life) to throwing bottles at another woman. Evelyn is more bark than bite. A woman with a big mouth and propensity to throw everything but hands. I blame VH1, Viacom, Shaunie O'Neal and even myself to a extent. I watched this trashy reality tv show before. I helped with ratings. I did that. But, when you know better, you should do better. I tuned out. While I am glad that there seems to finally be consequences for her actions, I am disappointed that it took something this severe for people to see. VH1 should be ashamed of themselves. They have promoted violence on all of their reality shows. It's glorified all in the commercials because that's what pulls people in. I would hope that this makes VH1 take a deeper look at their shows. Changes need to be made. The people on reality tv shows need to be held accountable for their actions. That is the reality I am talking about.

Rant: Dude, Shut Up!

After seeing this Jamie Rohrs character give interview after interview, I've come to one conclusion. He is a punk. Being in a dark theater and a maniac is shooting people may make one panic. I do not understand how a father could place his 4 month old baby boy on the floor. Or leave his then girlfriend and her 4 year old daughter in the theater. Or jump over a balcony and flee the theater. Or get in his car and leave the scene without his family. Why is he giving interviews and crying as if he's a hero?? He is scum. And, that proposal at the hospital seems suspect. His fiancee is a fool for accepting. If a man loves me then leaving me in harm's way would not be an option. I really want Rohrs to stop showing his face and talking. I cannot even wrap my mind around the fact that this woman accepted his proposal. Just sad all the way around. In my opinion, Rohrs is a coward. And, who wants to marry a coward? Not me!

Rant: I Think I'm...

Writing truly makes me happy. That said, I think I've reached a breaking point. Finding topics has become harder in the last month. I only like to wrote about issues that concern me and that I feel deeply about. I do not just write for the sake of blogging. I need to write. I've committed myself to blogging every day. So far, I've been able to accomplish this. It's the end of July and I haven't missed a day. I've even posted a few extra times this year. It has been truly hard work.

Some of my friends think that blogging is easy. It isn't. Some don't get why this is so important to me. It's me finally doing what my heart wants. All throughout school, writing has been my thing. I'm going to try to not fall off my writing goal. I cannot let myself down. I'm doing this for me. I have to write to better my craft. I'm writing myself into being a better writer. I guess this is just me putting myself on notice. I'm just ranting about feeling burnt out. I'll sleep on it and get through it. There will be more writing to come in this space. Don't mind me, I'm just in between thoughts.

Rant: Who's Un-American?

Mitt Romney and his team spent all day yesterday claiming that our current President is "un- American. " Really? Is it me or is this not a reboot of McCain in 2008? Back then, the GOP slandered President Obama with the claims that he was a Muslim and that he wasn't born here. That would mean that he wasn't an American. Has the Republican party ran out of ideas? It appears that they are just going to recycle the same mud from the last election. Newsflash to them: it didn't work then and it won't work now. It makes Romney & the Republican party look out of touch and racist. They need a new platform because this one is just stupid. How more American can the President be? Born and raised here and he has ascended to the highest office in the land. He pursued the American Dream. He came from nothing to acquire something. Is that not American of him? I love politics but I hate the mud slinging that comes along with it. Campaign on the facts. Just the facts. The people will decide what is fact and what is fiction. Un-American my ass!

Rant: Let the Father's Have Their Day!

Announcement: Father's Day is for Fathers. Yes, you read that right. The day is to celebrate all Dads. It is not a holiday to celebrate single moms. I think it is selfish for Moms to want to claim it as theirs as well. I grew up in a single parent home. Mom was it. But, the reality is she was not Mom and Dad. She was, however, a Super Mom in my eyes. But, she was not my Dad. She could not teach me lessons that only a Dad can. I cannot take this seriously. Why is this the trend? I will not tell any woman "Happy Father's Day" because it is not their day. By definition of the word father, mothers are totally exempt.

I've noticed on multiple social media sites that single moms cannot wait to take the credit for being both parents. It was literally 12:05 on Twitter when the anti-Father's day tweets started flying. I think its sad that fathers, especially in the Black community, cannot even have their day. This doesn't happen on Mother's Day. I have never seen men try to take credit for being both parents, even though this happens as well. In my opinion, it comes across as bitter. Moms are celebrated and exalted all year long. Dads seems to get a bad rep. And, I don't think its fair or warranted. There is another issue at hand here. But, as a woman without kids, I refuse to dive into it. So, let's just let the Fathers have their day. Let's try this out next year.
