Bible Talk

When you constantly see or hear something, you tend to take notice. This is what happened to me last year. I was bombarding with Bible verses from Romans 8. I kept seeing Romans 8:28 as well as 8:35. After seeing them for about a week, I had to go to my Bible and read them. Once I started reading, I remembered the chapter very well. In the past, I had an in-depth conversation about this specific chapter in Romans. I had someone explain this to me in great detail. It's a very interesting chapter in the Bible. I've spent countless moment thinking that I wasn't good enough for one reason or another. Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." There is something about those words that fill me with so much hope.

Romans 8 has become a staple in my life. I read it often and early. It calms, centers and refocuses me. It makes me feel like I have a bigger purpose here in life. In the moments when I am doubting myself and feel at my lowest, I read it. There have always been verses that have stuck with me but this is different. I almost feel as though it was tailor made for me at this point in my life. I can say honestly that my faith has waivered a lot lately. It's so easy to get caught up in the "woe is me" life and I've been there far too long. But, the dark clouds have dissipated and I can see and feel the sun shining directly on me. I'm happier than I've been in a really long time. And, I know that prayer has a lot to do with it. I read Romans 8 more than any other chapter in the Bible in the last few months. It's helped me tremendously. I am so thankful for all the universe for conspiring to lead me to those particular words.

Message!

I really should be but I am burnt out. But, this Idris Elba meme just might have given me all the motivation that I needed. Well, that and I am almost finished reading the dopest book and I cannot wait to review it here for you guys. Sometimes I sit and the words just won't come. You cannot force them. So, I don't. I get up and do something else, usually listen to music to stimulate my mind. I am forever thankful when the words flow like a river. Because then, I get to be my most authentic self. Words are just my thing. I love to write and create something new in my own words and my voice. Maybe the words will flow in the right way for my review later this week. I am praying that they do. Hope you guys have a happy Sunday. <3 i="">

Message!

I saw this and it resonated with me. We cannot go back. It isn't feasible. Forward is the only move. It's hard to accept but it is what it is. Sometimes we just need to "see" or "hear" this from someone other than ourselves. We can't make people change or be who we want them to be. Letting go when you want to hold on is tough. But, the reality is that you wouldn't have to fight for people to stay. Those who want to stay will. Those who want to go, will go. The one thing I've learned in my 34 years is that God brings people in your life and takes them out when needed. Reason, season, or lifetime. It really is that simple. I am learning this day by day. I won't/can't beg you to stay because I shouldn't have to. That is all.

#31WriteNow: Message!

I've said "I'm ok" so much that the words carry no weight.
They aren't heavy as they fall from my lips.
The words mean nothing.
It's just my automatic response.
I don't always want to share.
So, it's convincing enough to make people back off.
"I'm ok."

Take Responsibility

The above quote is so true. You need to be fully responsible for the energy you bring with you, especially if its my space. I've spent the last week of my life facing some hard truths. I've never been one to turn away from any responsibility. I hold myself  accountable for every action, decision, thought and word.  It's my way of always holding myself accountable.  Whenever you walk into a room or into a person's life, you bring your energy with you. A person with negative energy can drain you, especially if its a daily thing. Also, a person with an ulterior motive has a negative energy. Keep those away from you as well. I don't know why this is such a hard concept for some. When I am in a bad mood, I tend to stay to myself. I don't necessarily want to talk about it. Nor do I want to project that onto someone else. But, that's just me.

What I will no longer allow is someone else to come into my space and affect me negatively. My year has been the epitome of that. I've been reacting to one situation. I haven't been smart or logical about it. I've been the antithesis of myself. And, that must end. It isn't pretty or truthful. And, truthfully, I am done with it. Over it. There is no excuse for that type of thinking. If your energy is off and not pure, please stay away from me. Far away. Your space is personal. It is your own cloak of security. You have to protect it at all costs. The reality is no one will ever respect your space the way you will.  It's a very hard lesson to learn. Especially when you've let people in and they've said they would take care of you. In the end, you realize that sometimes a person's words are just that...words. My space is sacred. I need everyone to respect that. I will return the favor. These are just my thoughts as I sit out by the pool on this ridiculously hot Louisiana day. Be good to each other, people.

Butterfly = Happiness

Happiness is a simple concept. Humans tend to mess it up. I saw this quote and it struck a chord in me. Sometimes we complicate things, life, love and everything in between. Maybe happiness isn't to be chased. In the pursuit of happiness, we tend to miss out on life. It is what's happening while we chase this idea of happiness. That's the message I got from this quote. I love the idea that happiness can be as close as a butterfly. I stop chasing the idea of it and started living my life. Happiness found me in so many unexpected ways. I've smiled more in the last few years. I've laughed so much more. My happiness shines from within. What more could I ask for? Take time to stop and smell the tulips (I don't like roses lol). Simple but true! Heed the message, people!!!

Live Your Life

I think we all struggle with this. Am I living my life to the fullest? Or am I just existing? And what can I do to make sure the width of my life is as full as it could possibly be? Life can be really hard. It is easy to get caught up in the day to day without truly living. The good thing about that is if we are lucky we get to try again tomorrow. Life, I believe is about living your passion. Finding that thing that makes your heart smile every single time you do it. That is when we come alive. Writing is my thing for now. It fulfills me on so many levels. It's always good to read something like this to re-energize you. It motivates me to do more, be more, achieve more. There is a message in those words.

The Picture With A Message

I saw this and the message def caught my eye. Let's just call this a lesson learned. In the words of my brother from another MJ, marinate on that...and take it with you when you leave.
