Get Into It: "Think Like A Man Too" Soundtrack

In my book, Mary J. Blige can do no wrong. When Mary sings it, you believe it. I have been a fan since the beginning. So, you can only imagine my excitement when I learned that the soundtrack to  "Think Like A Man Too" was essentially a Mary album. From beginning to end, Mary was perfection to my ears. The song I instantly clicked repeat on was "Wonderful." I love the beat and the lyrics and the message. Mary sounds like her old self on it. This soundtrack gets my money simply for Will Packer having the balls to pull a move like this. It seems that he is as much of a Mary fan as I am. Every track is my favorite honestly. Every track evokes a different emotion from me. I listen to it daily. It has an old school R&B/Hip-Hop feel to it. And, that is right up my alley. I love it. This soundtrack, just like the movie, is worth the $$$. Get into it!

Ladies Love Lyrics: Christina Perri/Steve Kazee's "A Thousand Years Part 2"

I saw "Breaking Dawn Part 2" on my birthday. I loved it of course. I watched it again Sunday night. There was a song "A Thousand Years" that stuck with me. The lyrics pulled me in. I loved the singers voice as well. I was not surprised to find out that the song was by Christina Perri. She had a song "Jar of Hearts" a few years ago that I loved. Her voice still moves me. She was the perfect voice for this track. If you haven't heard it, you should do so now. Enjoy.

It's Raining

It's raining here today. I'm not a big fan of being in the rain. but, I absolutely love listening to the rain. Hearing it hit the window pane is intoxicating. It is calming to my spirit. I love the fact that the rain cleanses the Earth. I love the smell of the rain approaching. Also the feel of wet grass under my feet reminds me of being a kid. I think my fascintaion with rain stems for my love of water. I am a big fan of ridiculously long, hot showers and equally as long baths. I, however, cannot swim but love to be in a pool. Crazy but so very true.

So, as I sit here listening to the soundtrack that this storm is providing, I begin to think about songs about rain. There are some classic tracks that come to mind. I think I love songs about rain as much as hearing the rain. The rain calms me. It seems to make everything around me peaceful. I am not a fan of thunder and lightning. That is never a good time for me. But, just rain is beyond blissful. I think I have waxed philosophically enough about my love for the sound of rain. So, enjoy the music while I finish enjoying this rain.
